New Student Orientation
Orientation dates for all new students are Thursday, January 10–Sunday, January 13, 2019.
Thursday, January 10th is simply a move-in/check-in day with a couple of required sessions later on in the day. The Dedication Service in the evening is your first required activity for orientation. For check-in day, you and your family can arrive any time between 8 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Students will receive a complete orientation schedule at check-in and a complete electronic version of the schedule is available here.
|8:00 am||Residence Halls open/Check-in begins - Culby 1|
|8:00 am - 3:00 pm||Checking In. When you arrive, please park in any of the available lots before checking in. At the end of the check-in process, you will receive your room keys if you are an on-campus resident. Once you have your room keys, you can move your car into the 15-minute lot to unload your stuff and move into your room. There will be people with carts available to help.
You may arrive between 8 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to check in. If you arrive after this time, please go to Culbertson desk for your registration packet and keys. If there are any departments that are not checked off on your packet, you will have to visit them at another time during the week.

|12:00 pm - 12:30 pm||Lunch (Students, Parents, Faculty, and Employees invited for $5.00 per person), Student Dining Room|
|3:00 pm- 4:00 pm||Required meeting for music majors and music emphases- Doane 202|
|3:00 pm - 4:00 pm||Parents Orientation in ASC 2. Students may attend if they like.|
|4:00 pm - 5:00 pm||Dedication Service in ASC|
|5:00 pm - 5:30 pm||Dinner (First meal for students in residence, all other are invited for $5.00 per person)|
|6:00 pm||Family and friends say goodbye|
|6:30 pm||Getting Starting Session with Dr. Tim Arens, VP & Dean of Student Life - SWTG 211|
Residence Hall Meeting (required for all residential students)

Orientation is required for graduation for any undergraduate student that is coming to the Chicago campus for the first time.
Married Students: If you have made arrangements for on-campus housing, you may have a different move-in date that you have negotiated with the Assistant Dean of Housing. You will still need to be available on check-in day to receive your new student packet and to meet with departments.
