Chicago Undergraduate New Student Checklist
Spring 2026
Congratulations on being accepted to Moody Bible Institute! The NSO Checklist below is designed to help you prepare for your arrival in Chicago. It will outline steps that must be taken before you arrive, point out additional options, and tell you what to expect when you arrive for New Student Orientation. Immediately
Set up Email Account
Shortly after you pay your matriculation deposit, you will receive an email to your personal email address with information regarding your Moody login and email address.
Once your Moody email address is set up, all future communication will be sent there, so be sure to check for new messages often.

Complete FAFSA
- Priority Deadline is January 1.
- The FAFSA is required to receive Moody's full-tuition grant. Please use school code 001727. International students with F-1 status are exempt from this requirement.
- If you want to take out loans, please complete the Loan Agreement (MPN) and Entrance counseling (https://studentaid.gov)

Submit Final Transcripts
Students must submit their final transcripts (high school, college, CLEP, and AP) after all grades have been posted. Request official transcripts to be sent directly to the Admissions office. Transfer credit evaluations will not be complete until final transcripts are submitted.

Pay your Bill
Pay your Bill
- All students must be paid in full or enrolled in a payment plan by January 1st to be allowed to move into the residence halls and/or to begin courses for the semester.
- Moody has two options for paying your bill. We partner with PayMyTuition for secure and convenient payment methods.
- Paying in Full
- Pay in full by January 1 (if you are not able to pay in full by this date, you must sign up for the payment plan by January 1) or you may be subject to late fees and past due balance holds.
- Log in to your my.moody.edu and select Student Center > Finances > PayMyTuition > Student Portal to pay with a U.S. bank account, or credit card.*
- Payments can be made by debit or credit card* by calling 312-329-4223.
- Checks can be mailed payable to: Moody Bible Institute, Attn: Student Accounts, 820 N. LaSalle Blvd., Chicago, IL 6010. Please include student name and ID number with all checks and allow 2-3 weeks for U.S. mail delivery.
- Moody Payment Plan
- If choosing the Payment Plan option, follow the directions above to access the PayMyTuition portal to pay with a U.S. bank account, debit or credit card.*
- There is a $65 non-refundable enrollment fee per semester. This amount is due at time of enrollment in the payment plan.
- The first payment is required and processed immediately upon payment plan enrollment.
- A $25 non-refundable fee if payment is returned if a payment is returned.
- Paying in Full
*PayMyTuition does not accept debit card payments. Payments made by debit or credit card through PayMyTuition will incur a 2.85% service fee.
Payments made by debit or credit card by phone to Moody will incur a 2.85% service fee.

The cost of a semester includes tuition, room and board, mandatory fees, and medical insurance, and is estimated at approximately $12,000 to $14,000, depending on course enrollment and student lifestyle preferences. Thanks to the generosity of donors, tuition may be fully covered for eligible students. Please visit Financial Aid for eligibility requirements.
Class Registration
Register for Classes
- Within 2-3 weeks of paying your matriculation deposit, an Academic Advisor will email you with information about your program, academic requirements, any transfer credit you have received, and the course registration process. Shortly after you have received those materials, you will be able to browse and register for Spring 2025 courses. Your Academic Advisor will be available to help you with this as needed.
December
Housing Assignment
Incoming students should fill out the housing application form here by December 12th. On this form, you will be able to request to live with a certain individual, in a certain building, and on a particular floor. All unmarried students will be assigned to a room on campus. The Residence Life staff will do their best to honor each request; however, they cannot guarantee your requested space will be available. Information regarding married housing can be acquired by emailing the Housing Office at housing@moody.edu.

Complete PCM Form
- Each of our Undergraduate students participates in a Practical Christian Ministry (PCM) every semester at Moody. The PCM department will enroll you in a PCM based on the input you provide in the PCM New Student Form regarding your interests and abilities. You must complete this form by December 8.

ALL students living in a residence hall or commuting to the Chicago Campus for classes must complete the required Health Forms according to the State of Illinois laws.

ALL documents (Immunization Record, Tuberculosis screening form, Physical Exam form) downloaded to the Portal must include student’s name, date of birth and Student ID. The document will be deleted and not reviewed if these instructions are not followed.
Please note: Access to the portal becomes available after you register for classes. Allow up to 24 hours after registration before attempting to log in.
Moody Student Health Insurance is a financial benefit and is administered by Student Accounts. For information or questions regarding Health Insurance, visit the Health Insurance page.
Health Insurance
- All Chicago Campus undergraduate students are automatically enrolled in Moody's health insurance plan. If you have your own insurance, you may opt-out before the semester begins. If you will be using Moody's health insurance plan, please officially accept it by emailing studenthealthinsurance@moody.edu to expedite your move-in experience during orientation.
- All international students (with F-1 Visa status) are required to have health insurance for themselves and their spouse/child(ren) if applicable, that live with them.
Send ID Badge Picture
All students are required to wear an ID badge while on Moody's campus. This ID Badge is used for identification purposes and electronic door access in all buildings. The ID badge contains a photo which is posted in the Online Directory with your email address to be available to the Moody community.
Please submit a passport-style photo to access@moody.edu. ID photos must meet the following requirements:
- Recent color photo
- Neutral solid color/blank background (Tip: You can use a sheet as a background)
- Bright, even lighting (Avoid shadows on your face)
- Centered, frontal view of full face – no profile
- Cropped from just above the top of the head to the collarbone
- Eyes open and visible (wear prescription glasses if you normally do so)
Smiling is encouraged for these photos. No one else may be in the photo. Photos must not be edited or modified. Senior pictures, school photos, or photos with hats, sunglasses and/or other props will not be accepted. You will be notified if the photo isn't approved.
By submitting a photo before your arrival to campus, you will expedite your move-in wait time and avoid long lines. Should you choose not to submit a photo prior to orientation, one will be taken that day. You also risk longer wait times during check-in, as the photo must be taken before you are able to move in to your room.
U-Pass/ CTA Pass
The U-Pass is a pass that allows access to public transportation in Chicago via the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). This includes the “L” train system as well as the bus system. The benefits of this pass include use of transportation at a decreased price, unlimited use throughout the semester, and transport to other required/non-required activities such as PCM, church, off campus events, work, etc.
Students must submit their photo to New Student U-Pass Photo Submission Form. In order to ensure that your U-Pass will be printed and ready for you to use on your first day of classes, we ask that you submit your photo at least 3 weeks before the first day of the semester.. Any photo submitted after this may arrive 1-2 weeks after the semester has already started.
January
New Student Orientation
Spring New Student Orientation (NSO) begins with Move-In Day January 15th-18th, 2026. Students may move in on Thursday, January 15th.

International Student Orientation
International Student Orientation is required for all new international students in addition to the required New Student Orientation. Move-In Day for international students is January 12. International Student Orientation will be held January 12–14, 2026 with the mandatory New Student Orientation occurring the rest of the week as mentioned above.
