International Students

Step 1: Obtain your I-20

After receiving admission to Moody, international students with F-1 status will be contacted directly by the International Student Office (ISO) regarding all necessary immigration documents. If you have questions or would like to know the status of your I-20, please contact iso@moody.edu.

Step 2: Pay your I-901 SEVIS fee

The SEVIS fee is paid by all F-1 students to cover the cost of operation of SEVIS and is paid directly to the U.S. government. The SEVIS fee can be paid online at www.fmjfee.com. Make sure you print the confirmation of payment of this fee to bring to your visa interview.

Step 3: Schedule your visa interview

As soon as you receive your I-20, you should schedule your visa interview. To apply for a visa, complete the DS-160 application. Please refer to the Embassy website for detailed information on which documents to bring to your interview. For a list of all embassies, please visit www.usembassy.com

Step 4: Get the required immunizations

The State of Illinois required all new students to complete a health history record and provide proof of Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Meningitis, and Tetanus/Diphtheria vaccination. Moody Health Services will email you the required forms. Please make an appointment with your physician in your home country in order to complete these documents. If you have questions, please contact healthservice@moody.edu

Step 5: Attend International Student Orientation

International Student Orientation starts Monday, August 19th, 2024. This gives you a head start on campus jobs, processing paperwork, and mingling with other international students. You will meet Moody staff, build meaningful friendships, play games, eat good food, adjust to Chicago, and learn more about being a Moody student. There is no extra cost for this orientation. International Student Orientation is required for all new international students in addition to the required New Student Orientation.
