Financial Information

Tuition and Fees

The average cost of a semester of study at the Chicago campus includes tuition, room and board, required fees, and medical insurance; it is estimated at roughly $14,000 depending on course enrollment and student lifestyle preferences (this estimate does not include books, supplies, or personal expenses). Due to the generosity and sacrificial giving of supporters of Moody, Chicago undergraduates may be eligible for full coverage of their tuition cost. The FAFSA is required to receive the Chicago Undergraduate Tuition Grant. See Financial Aid for details and eligibility requirements.

To estimate your costs per semester, please view the Fees List. Please be advised that this list may reflect the fees for the current year and are subject to change for the next academic year.

A complete list of Tuition and Fees is found in the Undergraduate Student Catalog.

Payment Deadline

Balances are due in full August 1 for the fall semester unless enrolled in the Moody Payment Plan. A $25 late fee will be charged monthly to students with an outstanding balance who are not enrolled in the payment plan.

Please Note:
If students are expecting institutional scholarships, outside scholarships, or loans to help cover their balance and they are not awarded by Moody's due date, students are still responsible for making payments on time for the amount due. Contact studentfinancialservices@moody.edu with any questions regarding amounts due.

Methods of Payment

Pay Online

Moody partners with Nelnet for secure, fast payments. Log in to the my.moody.edu portal and click on Student Service Center to find the link to Nelnet and create an account. Students can use Nelnet to view their bill in real time, make immediate payments, set up a payment plan, and receive refunds through direct deposit. Students may make payments with a bank account or debit/credit card* (Discover, MasterCard, Visa, and American Express are accepted). Students can also authorize other parties to pay directly toward their school bill through Nelnet. Note that third-party payments (from someone other than the student's custodial parent) should be reported as a resource on the student's FAFSA.

Others making payments towards a student's bill may also make payments online by debit/credit card* using Moody’s Non-student payment website.

Pay by Phone

Call (312) 329-4223 to make payments over the phone with credit/debit card* or with a bank account (ACH).

Pay by Mailed Check

Please include student name and ID on all checks and money orders, and allow 2-3 weeks for mail delivery. These may be sent payable to:

Moody Bible Institute
Attn: Student Accounts

Cash payments may be made at the teller window on the fourth floor of Crowell Hall.

*All payments made by debit or credit card will incur a 2.75% service fee.

Moody Payment Plan

The payment plan allows students to divide the semester's cost into monthly payments due on the fifth or twentieth of each month (July through November for fall, December through April for spring, May to June for summer). These are set up through Nelnet, and are withdrawn automatically from a U.S. bank account or debit/credit card*. There is a non-refundable $60 enrollment fee per semester. For more details about the Payment Plan, please visit Tuition & Fees.

Check Cashing

Teller Services is located on the fourth floor of Crowell Hall and is open Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. – noon. At Teller Services, students may cash personal checks up to $50 provided the student's financial obligations to Moody are in satisfactory condition. A personal check is a check a student writes to himself/herself drawn on the student's personal checking account. Checks for cash should be made payable to "cash." Moody student payroll checks may also be cashed at the teller window.
